About College

His Holiness Late Shri. Padma Bhushana Pt. Puttaraj Kavi Gavayi formed an education society for the blinds known as Dr. PGAS Samiti. Through this in memory of Poojya Pt. Panchakshara Gavayi a College for Music was established in the year 1991-92. The college is recognized by govt. of Karnataka and affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad and included in 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act. This college impart Hindustani, Classical, Vocal and instrumental music for rural, Urban students. Academic achievement is excellent as several students secured gold medals and ranks from Karnataka University Dharwad. The academic research and extension services of the faculty are unique in this region. The feedback and output of the college is excellent.

EMBLEM

Emblem of our Institution focuses on the importance of education and knowledge. It consists of the picture of Dr. Pandit Puttaraj Gavaiji. There are three words written in the emblem and they are Dharma- which means religion, Jnana – means knowledge, Seve – means service.
