PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Dr. PGAS Samiti started Pandit Panchaxara Gavaigalvara Music College in the year 1991 by late great pontiff Paramapujya Dr. Puttaraj Gavaigalu on his Gurus name Pandit Panchaxara Gavaigalu of Veereshwar Punyashram both of them were visually challenged. Both of them by his holiness Param Pujya Hanagal Kumarswamigalavaru. These three saints with their selfless service and scarifies developed Veesreshwar Punyashram in Gadag. Veereshwar Punyashram is also called as Sangeet Kashi. Our Samiti is very co-operative.
Our institution is situated in semi urban area, its main motto and aim is to create awareness about Indian tradition, Culture, Heritage, Fine arts and Hindustani Classical music in near by villages of Gadag districts and whole of Karnataka. Pur college is only one purely music college in whole Karnataka run by private management and aidded by Karnataka State Government, affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad.
We have very efficient and highly qualified faculties and also good non-teaching staff. With their dedication, hard work, commitment and also innovationve ideas elevated institution to greater heights. Our music college well equipped with very good music instruments and music books. We provide free meals and free hostel facility to financially weak students. Personal care is taken to every student. With our regular syllabus we maintain Guru Shishya Parampara also. With our routine we train our students systematically and scientifically. Our college is full of melodious songs, we can call it as “Nadamaya” and it is full of Rhythm, “Dha, Dhin, Thruka, Dhin, Ta” we call it as “Talamaya”.
In three years we make our students to think individually and lead the life independently. We make them to see the world with positive approach and optimistic view. Param Pujya Kallayyajjanavaru is heading the Veereshwar Punyashram and also our Samiti. Param Pujya Kallayyajjanavaru is very kind enough to provide us all the facilities and he always encourages our college and students.
